Blog 6 Propaganda Techniques

Blog 6 - Propaganda Techniques

obama uses glittering generalizations in his campaign to emotionally apeal to his audience. His word choice is important/evident in two ways. By using a high value word such as "hope" or "change" he ties himself to their meanings.
vagueness leads the reader to jump the gun.
slogan
simple, not expressing full meaning
represents word itself

beautiful people
By portraying Clark Kent as a dairy consumer, the dairy industry uses "beautiful people" to entice you to try. In hopes of you becoming like them. This advertisment explicitly is a half truth since it directly says that milk is a "treat" for your bones when in reality its one of the worst things for it, alongside the rest of your health.
actor, super hero
half truth
milk is bad for bone
cherry picking facts

The Prius sells the image for an Ideal life,  and the idea that you are good Samaritan
straw man argument -  If you googled "are hybrids good for the enviorment?" you would know they are not
(this is a +100,000,000,000 billion dollar company taking advantage of your ignorance)
half truth - good mpgs (sort of) < horrible environmental impact, (acid rain, water table pollution, neurotoxin derivatives, ect.)

Ignorance cripples you and I the world.

Blog 7 three APA format references

Blog #7  - Three Sources in APA

Caiani, M., & Parenti, L. (2013). European and American Extreme Right Groups and the Internet. Farnham: Ashgate Publishing Ltd.

This source will be a great way to dive further in some of the serious problems currently not addressed by the internet. This article points out how parties on the far left can leverage the internet to rally support for their causes.  I hope that i can use this sources as a way to show how many part of the internet or subtly blocked off. And hopefully this article will give me a great point to speak about how my website will solve complex hidden problems such as this.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Davis, S. M. (2009). The Shift : The Transformation of Today's Marketers Into Tomorrow's Growth Leaders. San Francisco, CA: Jossey-Bass.

This paper focuses on the evolution or marketing, particular the shift from a economy and industry based on impressions (or something like that) transition into what is widely referred to as inward marketing,  where your customers give your business feedback on what they want.  This book offers warning to organizations that refuse to see this shift in marketing.
Although this book appears length it has an extensive table of content which will allow me to hone in on the most relevant topics.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jones, S. K., & Silverstein, B. (2009). Business-to-business Internet Marketing : Seven Proven Strategies for Increasing Profits Through Internet Direct Marketing. Gulf Breeze, FL: Maximum Press.

Unfortunately this book was written in 2009; so it is not the most ideal source; however, it has a straight forward title which on i was particularly interested in.  I look forward to diving into this book as well. This will be a great resource to quote next time someone is speaking about the pros and cons of my website.

Blog 5 investigating inward marketing

Blog #5 - investigate your topic further

The topic of this research paper is all about inward marketing, I would like to find more information on why the market has not been fully developed, and information on how valuable it is to companies to be using these new resources. Particularly at this moment as consumers are becoming more aware of their surroundings.

Fortunately i have already done research on this topic and i will a lot of experience representing this idea from a person to person standpoint. The research paper that i will be writing will hopefully be more focused on why larger companies should be interested in a well intention marketing vehical as my own.

Blog 4 Research Paper Topic

Blog #4

The topic I will be doing my paper on is going to be how there is a real need in the market for the product that i am my company are creating. In essence i will be explaining what a DynamicStory.org is, and then i will be site sources from scholarly journals and a college level articles.  I think that this is going to be a great topic because of its relevance to the class.

I am hoping to go last in the class, i think that after everyone has spoken about their topics a speech like mine will help set into perspective on how the future of mass media may look and it will be exciting to see one of those visionaries coming from De Anza College.

Blog #4 ? movies new and old

My favorite movie use to be called ocean's 11, the remake with George Clooney. There are many aspects of this movie which i did not understand before this class; however, i still greatly enjoy this movie because the characters are so clever, and suave.  When i was a kid i enjoyed watching the video when i was sick and every time i learn a little more about the movie, the characters, and the narrative.

My favorite movie in 2013-2014 is hard for me to put a thumb on, recently i have become quite aware of how unoriginal and mindless movies make people, my opinion of course. Documentaries will always have a place close to my heart; however, it is hard for me to pick a favorite, or to even make sure that it was in the correct time frame.  I will name drop; however, I recommend taking the time to watch a video series called "spirit science" on YouTube. I really enjoyed their sudo science, something are incredibly hard to believe but i think it has a very interesting perspective on our current way of life, and the life we could be living.
